Why build a custom case instead of buying a standard one?
Standard cases come in fixed layouts, so you either leave pockets empty or squeeze items into slots that don't fit. A custom case is planned around your exact mix. The case is sized to what you carry, every vial has its own pocket, and nothing rattles around in transit.
Design your case in a few minutes
Add what you carry, pick a color and latch, and check it in 3D before you order.
Step 1: Count your vials by size
The builder has pockets for the two most common vial sizes:
- 3 mL vials - small vials, the most common size in most collections.
- 10 mL vials - larger multi-use vials. There's also a slim 10 mL pocket for narrower vials.
Enter how many of each you want to carry. If you're unsure, add one or two spare pockets. An empty pocket costs little space, and a missing one is annoying every day.
Step 2: Add bays for everything else
Most people carry more than vials. Add bays for:
- Pens - lying flat in a fitted tray.
- Pads and wipes - a flat bay sized for packets.
- Your own item - enter width, depth and height for a custom space.
The planner fits the bays and the vial pockets together into the tightest, tidiest layout it can find.
Step 3: Choose the case details
- Latch: single latch for small and medium cases, dual latches for wide cases.
- Color: pick from the colors shown in the builder.
- Hinge side: long side (wide case) or short side (deep case), whichever suits your bag.
- Temperature sensor window (optional): a clip-in window in the lid that holds a small digital thermometer you can read without opening the case.
Step 4: Personalize the lid (optional)
Add text, an icon from the library, or your own logo. The design prints in a second color on the lid. The builder checks line thickness and spacing so small details print cleanly. See our lid design guide for tips.
Step 5: Check the preview, then add to cart
The top view shows every pocket labelled by size, and the 3D view shows the closed case. When it looks right, add it to your cart and check out on vialcase.com.
